Pregnancy laser hair removal questions are constantly arising.  Many wonder if it’s safe to treat while pregnant; and while no studies have proven that laser hair removal should not be performed on women while their pregnant. We recommend stopping treatment until the baby is born just to be on the safe side.

     Hair growth can be triggered by a plethora of things, one being hormone change.  When women become pregnant, hair growth can be triggered in areas that were once soft and smooth.  Because of this, many women inquire about laser hair removal treatment during pregnancy.

     Studies have been conducted, and there are no results that prove that laser hair removal is dangerous for those that are pregnant, but longer studies have yet to be concluded, it is for this reason that we refuse to let our patients undergo pregnancy laser hair removal treatments.  Others that do treat women who are pregnant may steer clear of treating the abdominal area as well as the breast/areola area in order to ensure the safety of the baby.   We do not feel this is a prudent idea. In addition, we would not allow pregnant women to use any numbing creams prior to treatment because of the absorption factor.
